Abstract: 
The article discusses the impact of child labor on school performance in Latin America, focusing on the results of reading and mathematics among students of elementary education. An overview of research on the relationship between child labor and education level completed is given, including studies by the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) and the International Labour Organization (ILO). Subjects include low school performance among children who work outside their home, higher incidence of child labor among schoolboys, and the right to education in the region. (English)
